Today I have released the latest in the Dungeon Battle Tile series of products.
Dungeon Battle Tile 17 – Challenge 5
“I did not think it was going to cost me that much. With those two nasty looking stone statues and the large number of Glyphs spread all over the room I knew we were in for trouble. The amount of blood, not only old and dried blood but some fresh and recently spilled, spread around the statues It did not help to comfort me much either. Someone that spent too much of their time reading books convinced the rest of the party the best thing to do was walk down the edge of the wall then across the middle to the other exit was. The should have taken my advice which was to just exit the room without trying to cross it. Well things got bad when the Hilof the Fighter decided to go first and got teleported right beside one of the statues which give him a nasty cut with a blade. At that point everything fell apart when we all abandoned the plan and make a mad dash to either enter the fight or get across the room. I am not sure what happened after that except I got teleported to several different locations before I finally got to the other side. How did it cost me so much you ask? Because I broke Hilda, my favorite sword, when I hit one of the statues as I went through the room. I sure will miss her.” Ardek the Dwarf.
This room is composed thirteen different pairs of glyphs and of two stone statues spread out over the room. When a character steps on a glyph they are teleported to the matching glyph. There is a separate map numbered 1 to 13 showing where each matching glyph is located. The teleportation is disorienting and each character can only advance one hex per round until the exit the glyph area. The stone statues are equipped with a weapon in each hand, thus getting two attacks per round, and animate and attack any character teleported beside them. Because the statues are made of hardened stone any fumbled attack against them could easily damage the attacking weapon. The statues do not communicate or leave their location for any reason. Smart players that study the glyphs might figure out there is a way to travel from one end of the room to the other using specific glyphs that do not put them within attack range of the statues (by using glyphs shown as 1,2 and 3 on the separate map).
